The annotated gene function and catalytic activity do not involve UDP-N-acetylglucosamine or keratan sulfate I biosynthesis as mentioned in the provided reaction, indicating that the gene and the reaction are not related. No
ENSG00000175711 Q67FW5 MAR07356: keratan sulfate I biosynthesis, precursor 21 + UDP-N-acetylglucosamine --> H+ + keratan sulfate I biosynthesis, precursor 22 + UDP ENSG00000156966 or ENSG00000170340 or ENSG00000174684 or ENSG00000175711 or ENSG00000176383 or ENSG00000177191 or ENSG00000179913 Pending No, the gene is not relevant to the reaction provided. Analysis and explanation: The gene ENSG00000175711 encodes a glycosyltransferase that specifically catalyzes the galactosylation of queuosine(34) in tRNA(Tyr). The provided reaction pertains to keratan sulfate I biosynthesis involving UDP-N-acetylglucosamine. Therefore, the gene ENSG00000175711 and the reaction provided are not related, as they involve different substrates and biological processes. No
ENSG00000135702 Q9GZS9 MAR07447: keratan sulfate II biosynthesis, precursor 5 + PAPS --> H+ + keratan sulfate II biosynthesis, precursor 6 + PAP ENSG00000135702 or ENSG00000140835 or ENSG00000175040 or ENSG00000183196 Pending No, the gene is not relevant to the reaction provided. Analysis and explanation. The gene ENSG00000135702 encodes a sulfotransferase that catalyzes the transfer of sulfate to position 6 of non-reducing N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) residues and O-linked sugars of mucin-type acceptors, specifically targeting short carbohydrate substrates and showing no activity toward keratan. The provided reaction involves the biosynthesis of keratan sulfate II, which is not a substrate for the enzyme encoded by this gene, explaining the lack of relevance. No
ENSG00000135702 Q9GZS9 MAR07476: keratan sulfate II (core 4-linked), biosynthesis, precursor 5 + PAPS --> H+ + keratan sulfate II (core 4-linked), biosynthesis, precursor 6 + PAP ENSG00000135702 or ENSG00000140835 or ENSG00000175040 or ENSG00000183196 Pending No, the gene is not relevant to the reaction provided. Analysis and explanation: The gene ENSG00000135702 encodes for a sulfotransferase that catalyzes the transfer of sulfate to the terminal GlcNAc residues and O-linked sugars of mucin-type acceptors, but specifically does not have activity toward keratan or longer carbohydrate substrates with poly-N-acetyllactosamine structures. The reaction described involves the biosynthesis of keratan sulfate II, which the gene's product does not act upon, thus making the gene unrelated to the reaction. No
ENSG00000175711 Q67FW5 MAR07478: keratan sulfate II (core 4-linked), biosynthesis, precursor 7 + UDP-N-acetylglucosamine --> H+ + keratan sulfate II (core 4-linked), biosynthesis, precursor 8 + UDP ENSG00000156966 or ENSG00000170340 or ENSG00000174684 or ENSG00000175711 or ENSG00000176383 or ENSG00000177191 or ENSG00000179913 Pending No, the gene is not relevant to the reaction provided. Analysis and explanation: The gene ENSG00000175711 encodes a glycosyltransferase that specifically catalyzes the galactosylation of queuosine(34) in tRNA(Tyr) using UDP-alpha-D-galactose. In contrast, the provided reaction involves the biosynthesis of keratan sulfate II using UDP-N-acetylglucosamine. The different substrates (UDP-alpha-D-galactose vs. UDP-N-acetylglucosamine) and target molecules (tRNA(Tyr) vs. keratan sulfate II) indicate that the gene's function is not related to the reaction described. No
