Current behavior:

While looking for all reactions that involve mitochondrial metabolites that are associated with peroxisomal genes for #634, I came across these pairs of near-duplicate reactions that are like the ones in #639:

4-cis-decenoyl-CoA --> 2-trans-4-cis-decadienoyl-CoA MAR04003 MAR03294
arachidonyl-CoA + O2 --> 2-trans-cis,cis,cis,cis-4,8,11,14-eicosapentaenoyl-CoA + H2O2 MAR03366 MAR03444

See #791 for all similar reactions that involve O2 and H2O2 that don't already have an FAD-dependent equivalent

Expected behavior:

One of the most notable differences between the mitochondrial acyl-CoA dehydrogenases and the peroxisomal acyl-CoA oxidases is that the former reduce FAD while the latter reduce oxygen to hydrogen peroxide (source), so I'm pretty sure that the oxygen/peroxide versions should be removed and the FAD-dependent versions should be kept, since these are all mitochondrial reactions.

Proposed changes:

  • Remove MAR03371 for being a less-accurate version of MAR03284
  • Remove MAR04003 for being a less-accurate version of MAR03294
  • Remove MAR03366 for being a less-accurate version of MAR03444
