Feature Request: Selective Ironing (Painting)

It would be great to have a painting feature for ironing horizontal surfaces, similar to color painting or support painting. I did a search and found this idea brought up in an ironing features request which was largely about adding first layer ironing to the options (excellent idea!). A good example of when this would be useful is a part with multiple horizontal surfaces. There is a large flat surface at the top that I would like to iron but there is small raised text on it, and the text looks better without ironing, and the other horizontal surfaces do not benefit from ironing.
I realize this can be accomplished with modifiers, but this seems like a relatively easy feature, and one which a lot of people would utilize if it was made available.
