I am using the master and I was able to tell it to "Use file.csv" and make sure you put the file in the working directory for the application. The only issue I had was that if the file is large it will fail to load because of the limits set by GPT.

Its inability to handle PDFs was mentioned in #2528.

The Python package Pandas is the best way to work with tables and it has a function to load Excel files. You can install it then try adding it as a listed resource in Auto-GPT's prompt, to try and get it to write code using Pandas to "look at" an Excel file.
