"Edit" template action add a new one instead of editing

Tested on Serpico 1.3

  1. As an admin, create a new template in the "Add Report Template" menu
  2. Then, go to the "List Report Template" menu
  3. Edit the previously created template ("Report Type" for example)
  4. Click "Modify" to save the change
  5. It will ask to give a template file (what if I don't want to edit it?)
  6. Link a docx template
  7. Click "Modify" to save the change
  8. A new template is created with the new "Report Type" instead of editing the old one

Same goes for the checkboxes "Finding Template" & "Status Template" that you can't edit.
Is the "modifiy" action routed to the "add" one ?

Thank you

Thanks @Clickb8.

I think this issue is with user expectations. If you Modify a template and change the Report Type of the template ... then a new template will be added to your database. However, if you Modify a template and keep the Report Type the same ... then no new template will be created; the old template will just be updated.

I need to dig into this more. This behavior hasn't bothered me in the past but not sure that aligns with a majority of users expectations or usage.
