Doesn't look like gitlab supports MR status's (or at least not the free version, might need more investigation)

For now we're just going to set a project label but this needs some further looking into.

For now we've added a status to the head commit for the MR. This might need further error handling as in some cases this can fail.

  • The source branch of the commit has been deleted
  • The cla bot user doesn't have access to the source branch
