hi Amanda, the globe version always outputs displacement seismograms with units in [m]. in SAC files, you can indicate what these trace values should be by the variable IDEP. options given by SAC (https://ds.iris.edu/files/sac-manual/manual/file_format.html) as type of dependent variable are:
SPECFEM3D_GLOBE chooses the setting |

Dear professor, if I use the point force source as the source to calculate the seismic record, Should the unit of force in the input file be Newton or dyne? |

Hello everybody,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the output units are for the synthetic seismograms generated in SPECFEM3D_Globe. I see that the SAC headers have been populated with information, and it appears that the unit (for a displacement synthetic) is "nm' - nanometer?
Thanks,
Amanda
