consider a variation of this:

  1. stop pre-compressing man pages
  2. have ravensw gzip compress man pages upon installation

The main reason why is pre-compression actually makes package sizes bigger. If zstd could see the entire plain text versions, it would be able to compress the entire man page set much better than individual gzip files.
