Ratchet and Clank games crash when scanning for previous game's saves #16136

Quick summary

The Ratchet and Clank ports to ps3 have functionality for unlocking bonuses for having saves from the previous games that are past certain points of progression on the hard drive when playing the later games in the series. Having a save from the first game unlocks weapons in the second game and allows you to purchase them for free if you owned them in the first game, with similar ideas being used in later games.

Details

Trying to use this feature in rpcs3 though causes the emulated game to immediately crash with an access violation due to attempting to read from unmapped memory.

I attempted to go back through the releases and see if this ever worked after some people said that they remembered it not having any issues, but after going back 2 years and having the same issue, either I'm missing something or the bug has always been present.
