How to report a helpful problem

Qubes OS release

4.2

Brief summary

I connect the monitor via hdml - nothing is displayed. The screen worked properly for 4h. I executed the command to increase xrandr memory, to no avail. Shutting down the laptop after the last kernel update is impossible. The laptop is a Lenovo thinkpad P51. Graphics: nVidia only.

When I enable the graphics mode "intel & nVidia" in the bios, the external screen displays only the wallpaper and cursor, even if the screens are in "mirror" mode and running vm machines and visible on the laptop display.
The screen has a fullHD resolution.
The problem does not occur in older kernels (two revisions back)

Expected behavior

The external monitor should ALWAYS work.

Actual behavior

We have qubes 4.2, which is sometimes useless - the monitor has stopped working.
