Remove, replace, and modify images on the site

In light of #244 (comment), this may be a good opportunity to consider the value of each image in /static/ before beginning to move them. I'm opening this issue as a way to track and discuss images that may be considered for removal, replacement, or modification, as suggested by @wj25czxj47bu6q on Matrix.

Removal

    • Reasoning: This image shows pretty dated information as is (e.g., that the Pixel 6a is new), and I think that adding a link to the Google Store is probably better here.
• Choosing Your Desktop Linux Distribution

    • Reasoning: It looks like there are hyperlinks in the image that readers can't access right now. Perhaps linking to the web page from which this image was screenshotted is better.

    • Reasoning: Same issue as the Google Store image; the Fedora screenshot will become dated very quickly as GNOME's UI changes over time.

    • Reasoning: The image, as you can see with the file's name, doesn't really fit here, in my opinion.

    • Reasoning: IMO, the image takes up too much space on the page.

    • Proposed Change: Place both images side by side
    • Reasoning: As is, the current arrangement takes up too much space IMO. It makes sense to put them side by side since both examples are referenced in the same breath.
