Using google authenticator as a 2 step verification instead of emails and pins

there's also plenty of libraries to reference off (in PHP), it dose not rely on google API either
only problem would be how to show the code since there's no copy and pasting in MCPE yet and it would make quite a lot of device users difficult and how to generate the QR code and maps if we going that route

Perhaps you could send a mail to them.
Though you don't even have to generate a QR code. There's also the ability to use a key.

sending a mail or PMing via twitter
or allow client to set the secret which in hindsight not it's not a very secure way if they will just set it to 16 X
(min is 16 char length afaik)
