Oh yeah, more progress! 🥳

Additions:

  • Added common and client configs. Nothing too major to see inside them for now, will be more values in the future (I hope).
  • New mag formula! This means star brightness is slightly different, but more realistic.

Next update I'll probably move away from stars at the moment (unless I see something that really bothers me .-.) and mess with the moon. Stay tuned!

P.S. This mod (all alpha versions) will be uploaded to CurseForge once we hit beta, whenever that is.

Initial release wooooo

Adds the following:

  • Vanilla stars are no longer random, and are now based off of actual stars using coordinates taken from The HYG Database. This increases the amount of stars substantially, from 780 to ~8800. Luckily each star is a tiny square so it doesn't have a noticeable effect on performance.
  • Stars now appear smaller.
  • Stars are colored based off of their known color index (e.g. really really hot stars are blue, "cold" stars are red)
  • Stars may appear brighter or dimming based off of an algorithm that uses the stars apparent magnitude. Do note the algorithm is incorrect and I plan to change it later.
