Welcome to the latest edition of NEAR Dev NEWS!

It's edition #22 and we've got your developer updates. Updates include a new chain signatures interface, a new wallet selector release, and more. To get NEAR Dev News first each week SUBSCRIBE to our mailing list. Let's dive in!

News

  1. New Chain Signatures Interface There is a new interface for producing chain signatures. Note that the key derivation function has also switched from sha2 to sha3, check out this working example. This is part of the 1.0.0-rc.1 release. Currently, to get signatures you should use v1.signer-dev.testnet. Once stable this will be deployed to v2.multichain-mpc.testnet in the coming days. v5.multichain-mpc-dev.testnet will host the most recent commits (not stable).

  2. New Wallet Selector Release: The NEAR Wallet Selector has just had a new release that includes support for Ethereum wallets, as mentioned last week. Check out all the updates in the release notes 👉 LINK

  3. Decentralized Indexer Network: NEAT has partnered with The Graph to build a Decentralized Indexer Network for AI on NEAR 👉 LINK

  4. Chain Abstraction Protocols Comparison: yh published a comprehensive article on how different protocols are approaching chain abstraction 👉 LINK

  5. Yield / Resume examples: Guillermo has created a repo containing two examples that show how to use the new yield/resume functionality. 👉 LINK

  6. JavaScript inside of Rust Smart Contracts: Peter Salomonsen showcased a repo that enables writing custom Javascript code inside of Rust smart contracts. Go check out the examples 👉 LINK

  7. NEAR social API: NEAR Builders have been developing a library to streamline interacting with the social.near contract. Examples coming soon 👉 LINK

  8. Smart Contract Logs Bot: Slime from Intear created a bot that watches for smart contract logs. Check it out 👉 LINK

  9. New projects added to Race of Sloths: You can now earn Sloth points by contributing to NearBlocks and Ref Finance. Can you get to the top of the leaderboard? 👉 LINK

  10. Race of Sloths First Contest Winners: The winners of the first Race of Sloths contest were recently decided. Fun fact: a smart contract was used to help decide the winners ensuring transparency. Check out the results 👉 LINK

  11. DevHub Livestreams: This week on DevHub Live we had special guest Sasha from Learn NEAR Club on for a great chat. Go check out LNC Barrel their NEAR project accelerator program. Wake Up and Ship More had part 1 and part 2 on building a software MPV, a great watch for those looking to build an app.
