I have this issue since I can remember (Plasma 5.24.4 to 5.27.4). Despite having double player enabled, after waking from suspend (not just locking the screen) the wallpaper goes blank for a moment between replays.
I'm using nvidia graphics, changing drivers to nouveau didn't help.
