Table of contents

I’ve been looking around for the best PDF generator/styler. This looks really awesome and is probably the best and easiest-to-follow documented solution.

I was wondering if it’s possible to generate a table of contents for all the headings in a document with their respective page number?

Yes, actually it shouldn't be hard

You need to create a separate Section for the table of contents

Have a custom component that renders the header and uses the usePafeInfo hook to get the page numbers for that header and if it was valid (during the layout process and before pagination this hook returns 0) send it to a global store like context or RecoilJS

Then another custom component gets the header and page numbers from that store and create the table of contents

Be aware that you shouldn't cause a change in the pagination by rendering the TOC so this TOC must be rendered in a separate Section

I can work on a built-in component for that if I could find the time somehow 😁
