It's likely that PRBProxy will evolve with time. v1.0 won't be the first and only release of PRBProxy.
Having a "version" storage var would make it easy to distinguish between different proxy releases, though it would increase the deployment gas cost.
Alternatively, I could name the contract "PRBProxyV1", but that would bring about other disadvantages.
