Before Installing "New stable release (20160424) of CM12.1 for S3 Mini is available!" on my I8190N it
was running on SlimKat 4.4.4 (by Android-Andi). Everything was running fine for a couple of Days (no gapps installed). Thank you vera much for your work !!

Unfortunatly i decided to run a factory-reset from within CM12.1 .
It ended in booting into TWRP (taken from the Novafusion Page) .
The TWRP "TEAMWIN" LogoScreen keeps flashing. I cannot get into TWRP :-(
The only way to stop this is to remove the Battery !
After Re-Inserting the Battery and pressing the Power-Button it still boots inte the flashing "TEAMWIN"-LogoScreen.

So I first flashed "CM12.1 stable release (20160424)"-ODIN version via ODIN (via Linux)
This didn't help.

Then I flashed TWRP (Novafusion - ODIN version) via ODIN (via Linux)
This didn't helped either.

So far i figure that i really killed my S3mini ...

[UPDATE] ... for anybody who runs into the same trouble:
Flashing "PhilzTouchRecovery" via ODIN helped me out.
Now CM12.1 boots again.
The surprise is, that all the old Userdata which i hoped to delete via Factory-Reset still exist on the Phone.

Greetings,

NoBeard

My details as following:
Phone: I8190N
Custom Rom: (20160615) of CM12.1 NovaFusion

Unfortunately, I hit into the same issue similar to @NoBeard 👍

  1. Flash to latest CM12.1 successfully.
  2. Immediately, I decided to factory reset after setting up CM.
  3. Auto reboot and hitting into TWRP bootloop issue.

I have tried to re-flash TWRP recovery and the stock rom again but it didn't help. I have flashed CWM touch recovery but same result too. Please look into this issue.

@NoBeard , Can you tell me more about flashing PhilzTouchRecovery? Where do you get the file and what's the settings on Odin? Thank you for your help!

Hello biscuitfood !

Hell, this was in the middle of a long weird task to set up /data encryption.
As far as i remember i looked at xda for any recovery i could found.
I tried a lot diffrent recoverys. the PhilzTouch is as far as i know a CWM recovery mod.
I allways started with the newest version of recoverys.
I suppose i used the version from Android-andi here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2749286

I cannot tell anything about odin setting. I used heimdal (because Im on Linux) ,
but at XDA you will find any instruction you need to use ODIN. Just serch around a little.

Hope that helped.
Greetings !

@NoBeard I'm jumping like a HAPPY boy now!! It works like a charm. I had a little hope that you will be coming back to reply me but you did 👍

I bumped into some threads in XDA and apparently a lot of users are having same issues as well. I hope this thread could bring attention to NovaFusion developer. I'm writing the steps below and all credits goes to @NoBeard :

  1. Download latest "PhilzTouchRecovery" from - Link
  2. Download Odin v3.07 (download from NovaFusion - Link)
  3. Open Odin v3.07
  4. Enable download mode on the phone [use VOL- & HOME & POWER buttons combination]
  5. Connect to your PC.
  6. Enable "Auto Reboot" & "F.Reset Time" on Odin
  7. Click the PDA and select the file that you downloaded on Step 1
  8. Click Start
  9. Once its done, your phone will be auto reboot and load into the PhilzTouchRecovery. Wait a while and you see Cyanogen logo again! Wola!

@NoBeard, last question if I may, did you re-flash again to TWRP2.8(from Novafusion) after PhilzTouchRecovery? I'm thinking to do that but I'm worried that it has boot loop issue again :)

@biscuitfood

Im glad that i could help !
Yes, i reflashed the whole Device a couple of times after that. (Flashcounter is somewhere around 15 :-)
I don't know what i flashed first. Recovery or ROM .... If i would be you Id start with flashing ROM..

I don't know if it is related to your problem. but i was coming from KitKat to Lollipop ....
Somewhere i read that something changed i the usage of the SD Card.. (Has to do with the encryption stuff) So if you wanna do a Factory Reset do it via Recovery: wiht a full wipe of /data /cache /system etc... Perhaps a Format /data can help you in this problem for the future...( I was sugested to do so, but personally It didn't helped me.) snd of course a fresh ROM flash ;-)

Greetings

@NoBeard Ah okay. I was coming from JellyBean and upgraded to CM12.1 - I'm already using CM12.1 now with PhilzTouchRecovery. What ROM you're having good experience now?

Thanks for sharing regarding the Factory reset via Recovery method.
