Describe the bug

When executing any program under polkit, they fail to launch with "ERR: cannot open display: " or similar.

Steps To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Install polkit
  2. Execute pkexec <any-program> or any program which asks for elevation
  3. Observe error

Expected behavior

Polkit should launch the application as usual.

Additional context

Tried with the gnome agent, and the tty agent, both of which failed in the same way. Tried the stuff in #18012, which also failed.

a recent system upgrade seems to have resolved this, closing
