This issue is to add subsidy records for HUD-insured mortgages that currently are not matching projects in the Catalog. The list of nonmatching mortgages can be found in the nonmatch spreadsheet generated during an update, such as Prog\Updates\Update_MFIS_2022_12_subsidy_nonmatch.xls.

Some of these mortgages are for existing Catalog projects, where as others may be properties that are not currently in the Catalog. Step 1, then, is to determine which are Catalog projects and identify their Nlihc_ID number. There are several ways to determine if a project is in the Catalog.

  1. Compare the "Property name" column in the nonmatch spreadsheet with the Catalog property names, either in the full Catalog PDF or in the Proj_name field in the Prescat.Project_category_view data set. In the PDF, the Nlihc_id number can be found on the far right of the project entry.
  2. Compare addresses in the "Property street address" column in the nonmatch spreadsheet with the Bldg_addre field in the Prescat.Building_geocode data set.
  3. Compare nonmatch parcel IDs with the SSL field in the Prescat.Parcel data set. To obtain parcel IDs for the properties in nonmatch data set, you can look up addresses in the DC MAR location search tool. The SSL (or SSLs) for the property will appear at the bottom of the search results under the Location tab.

It is not necessary to use all three methods for every project, but it can be helpful to try different ways of matching projects if you are unsure whether you have an exact match.
