Blockly: Issues creating a new variable

In thymio blockly in order to create a new variable i need to rename the variable element.
The option "new variable" does not work but renames an existing variable.
Renaming a newly created variable does not create another variable.

This bug has been around since the introduction of thymio suite. Before with blockly being separate, this bug did not exist.

OS: Mac OS 10.15, Thymio Suite 2.2
Default Browser being used: Chrome (Since Safari will make blockly not to workk properly)
