Guys, was having this error:

MintCoin Wallet EXCEPTION: St13runtime_error

A fatal error occured, Mintcoin can no longer continue safely and will quit.

EXCEPTION: St13runtim_error

....

Every time I would start the wallet, the splash screen would show for a few seconds and start to load the block index. Then the error would appear.

After much searching and finding a similar wallet with the same issue I was able to resolve this with a few very simple steps and it opened without issue. I just wanted to share in case someone else has the same error and hopefully will be able to find this solution. It should work for most QT wallets with this error.

Open the wallet folder %appdata% \MintCoin

Find the folder called txleveldb

Rename the folder, in my case I just renamed it "x-txleveldb" so it is not lost and easily changed back if needed.

Open the wallet and it should start right up and begin syncing with no errors. (It will resync the blockchain, this could take a while, but it is working) let it run and sync.

That's It!

Not sure what the error is referring to. Someone with more technical knowledge may have a faster or better way to resolve it, but this has worked for me on 2 different wallets that were not properly exited before the computer shutdown. And it does not take any fancy steps or a lot of knowledge to resolve it.

Hope this helps.

My thinking is that if there is an error in the database that one possible approach is for the wallet just to nuke it from orbit and re-initialize it.
