v2.1.0 - Target: Mid September

The next version will focus on behavioral functionalities. I'm really excited about those as they have made my tab life so much easier! After a year of using them, it feels odd when I switch to other browsers and don't see things moving automatically for me 😅 ... these were long held off because they were truly experimental, but they are finally stable.

Below is the list of features I hope to get into v2.1.0, feel free to leave comments and questions :)

New Behavioral Pushdown buttons:

• Auto Sorting
• Pinned Tab autofollow
• Duplicate Tab Prevention ( abandoned, requires a crazy permission)
• Discard tabs after 15min of inactivity
• Auto Save and Close tabs after 1hr of inactivity

other tickets:

• add Support for Tab Group
• Firefox investigation ( crashes on start... will revisit in 3 to 4 months when they increase their support for mv3)
• adding shortcuts for the 5 main features

Shortcuts added:

• sort_current: Alt+Shift+S
• merge_all: Alt+Shift+M
• shuffle: Alt+Shift+F
• discard (freeze): Alt+Shift+D
• remove duplicate and split by domain can be set by the user. (Chrome only allows 4 shortcuts with set default)

Note: save/load cannot have shortcuts - in manifest 3, service worker cannot access the file system picker API.

The first iteration of Tab Group was supposed to be an easy add ... yeah nope, it turned out to be quite involved. This chrome feature and api seem incomplete and becomes inconsistent when having multiple groups. Trying to maintain this feature would likely require a rewrite of every single functionalities of Ts2 (this isn't currently on the roadmap)

Currently only sorting groups are somewhat working for a bit ... before they either: multiply , become single tab groups or eat each other 🤦🏾‍♂️.

So for now any work on Tab Group will be shelved until a more stable solution is found.

Since Tab Groups were pulled out of 2.1.0, I instead added tooltips, a few more UI tweaks and Implemented TIM (Tab Info Map) to extend the current chrome tab API, this is in preparation for the new sort options that will be added :)
