Environment data

  • VS Code version: 1.38.0
  • Extension version (available under the Extensions sidebar): 2019.9.34911
  • OS and version: Windows 10
  • Python version (& distribution if applicable, e.g. Anaconda): 3.7.3
  • Type of virtual environment used (N/A | venv | virtualenv | conda | ...): venv

Actual behaviour

Clicking on "add configuration" from launch.json is not showing the Python option:

Steps to reproduce:

Open an existing launch.json file (or create a new one) and click on "add configuration". Notice that Python won't appear as an option.

It works when I downgrade to 2019.8.30787

Hi VScode team member here,

I can not reproduce this for other extensions. Can you please investigate first on the pyhton side?
Thank you
