Doesn't this ticket actually reduce to "create good Content MathML in PlanetMath"?
Given usable CMML, other applications should be able to perform some form of interop. I know Mathematica used to have a Content MathML input at one point.
Hm... I'm thinking more about interactions than content (but of course, we would need content in order to support interactions!). I think that if we could embed SAGE notebooks into PlanetMath, that would be one possibly interesting approach to this http://www.sagenb.org. I've noticed that they currently have public worksheets turned off, I'm not sure why -- so I can't show you a big catalog of examples.
