Obivously it takes a lot of by-hand work to create good collections now -- but much of that could be automated. A book with appropriate LaTeX sectioning could be uploaded, and all of the chapters put into one collection, each chapter's sections into a collection, etc.

This seems in many ways more practical than PDF upload (#116) ...
