I installed this today, and then added the example but used sensors I have, but the check configuration in dev tools, just starts and doesn't finish.
I tried adding entity_id:
but couldn't get it to finish.

Having same problem. Added sensor and check configuration never finishes. Remove the sensor and check configuration finishes immediately.
HA 2024.2.1

After updating Home Assistant to the latest version and removing and readding the plugin, it is working now. Check configuration completes in less than a second now.
