Layer Groups & Grouped Transformations

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe

I've discovered that there isn't really an option to create a group of layers and then transform those layers eg. moving a section defined with the selection tools.

I'd like to try to implement the feature, so I've forked the main repo and am creating a branch to experiment on.
