The PIC microcontroller devices currently have several placeholders in their name to actually match many different parts. I'm not sure if this makes sense or if there should be separate devices for different supply voltages and maybe also for different flash sizes.
An alternative might be to decide that this system is allowed for microcontrollers to reduce the amount of devices.
However we decide, afterwards the devices should be extended with the exact MPNs.
