Themed icon not working for me

I cloned your repo and ran it but the icon is not changing for me. I tried implementing it in other projects as well but no success. Is there any additional step required for it?
I can see apps with minsdk 23 and targetsdk 30 also compatible with this themed icons

"Themed app icons" features are a feature added in Android OS 13, so if you run the app on an older OS version, you won't see the changes reflected.
However, at some point the jetpack library may provide a compatible interface that works with older OS versions.
