A message board at systems should advertise dirty work on offer. In the more affluent, stable areas of the galaxy, these will be bounties on pirates and political assassination jobs. In the more rough'n'tough systems, these will be contract kills over petty disputes and bounties for local trouble-makers, including unwanted law-enforcement.

The types of jobs on offer will vary on the system you're in, your legal status (#37), and rank. For example, in some instances, you will be asked to pull off an assassination that will knowingly put you on a wanted list. In other places, only pilots with a 'certain kind of reputation' (#41) will be wanted and no questions will be asked.
