Checkpoint Loader W/ Noise Select & Upscaling #278

To answer your first question, the Load Checkpoint w/ Noise Select is indeed superfluous - it was not required since like late September when I was able to incorporate it into the AD loader directly. The scale factor refers to the internal scale factor on the model - it's only exposed for experimental purposes. That whole node is a "if you happened to want to edit these settings, then you can now do so" type of deal- it is not needed for anything related to AD. As for higher resolutions, it works best if you upscale a previous generation. For latent upscales, you can use 0.65ish denoise, and you can add additional controls like ControlNets or ipadapters to maintain similar content. Other upscaling should work too. |

Hi,
First off I love these custom nodes, I have made countless videos on comfyui now using ADE. That being said, after some searching I have two questions.
First, can someone explain the settings for Checkpoint Loader W/ Noise Select. For beta_schedule, does it do the same thing as the beta_schedule in the ADE model loader, making it superfluous? Also, what are the effects of scale_factor?
Secondly, animatediff works splendidly at its native 512x512 resolution, but loses a lot of quality when done at any different resolution. Does anyone have any good upscaling methods that don't lose the consistency animatediff provides? Currently, I use facedetailer, which does a great job at re-generating and pasting faces back onto on the animatediff video, at no consistency loss. Is there any tiled sampling that can be done for animatediff?
