Tier 1

Vanilla, who needs modded / advanced mobility on a Skyblock?

Tier 2

Climbing Gloves (Cyclic)
Elytra (Vanlla)

  • Fall damage should still be a threat, negating fall damage always does so much to make mobility a joke, along with flight as well
  • I don't want to reduce the danger from traveling, although I don't mind making them go faster

Tier 3

  • Fall damage immunity via either Slime boots or long fall boots

  • Jetpack flight or even most forms of flight renders a lot of mob combat useless, still unsure if I want to give them a jetpack, possibly maybe just a Slime Sling and fall damage immunity instead

  • Introduction to Simple Teleporter (intradimensional teleportation at no upkeep cost)

Tier 4

Some form of jetpack style fliight (Simple Jetpacks, possibly up to Resonant level)
Vicio Mantle

  • Start of interdimensional teleportation (Astral Sorcery Celestial Gateway)
  • Looking for other forms of

Tier 5

Creative Forms of flight such as flux-infused jetplate or angel ring

Some comments on Tier 2:

  • The feather falling enchant from vanilla is available.
  • Botania soujourner's sash is currently available in Tier 2 and provides step-assist, a small speed boost and the ability to jump up 2 blocks for a small mana upkeep. If it weren't available in Tier 2 I would like to see at least some other form of proper step assist (vanilla auto jump sucks). Fall damage is more common due to the increased travel speed. So more care is needed going down hills. The upgraded version (globetrotter's sash) is gated behind a gaia guardian kill, so at least Tier 3 (assuming diamonds are not supposed to be available until Tier 3).
  • I feel some form of intradimensional transport is needed in Tier 2 due to the random nature of worldgen and potential large distances involved. My nearest Dark Mountains is 1500 blocks from spawn but I haven't found another within 5000 blocks. I'm using Random Things Floo teleportation currently in Tier 2. It requires some setup (including visting both ends, naming in anvils) and a consumable. Simple teleporters would also work. Reliquary's Ender Staff also provides intradimensional teleportation to a single point at a cost of ender pearls (configurable) and is available in Tier 2.
  • Grappling hooks mod is currently available Tier 2 and is useful but has the potential for disaster without fall damage immunity. Even the ender staff/ender grappling hook from this mod might belong in Tier 2 (available currently) due to the potential for rapid deceleration death.
  • Both forms of long fall boots are currently available in Tier 2 due to the limited availability of diamonds in Tier 2 (Random Things bean pods and Evilcraft shrine chests, at least, both can contain diamonds). Note that if diamonds are removed from Tier 2 loot tables, the recipe for the Gateway Key will need to be changed.
  • Congealed blood boots (slime boots) are not currently disabled and so are available in Tier 2.
  • Botania's Rod of the Skies is available in Tier 2. It provides strictly vertical propulsion and would pair well with the elytra. Slime Sling is another way of gaining elevation for elytra flight.

Flight:

  • Botania's Fluegel tiara provides limited-time creative flight with a cooldown period and is gated behind the gaia guardian and End access (Ender Air Bottle - maybe custom recipe?). It probably belongs in Tier 4 as it is inferior to true creative flight.

Fall Damage immunity:

  • Tier 3 sounds right.
  • I would suggest slime boots be used in the recipe for long fall boots, as the latter provide much better protection and don't make you bounce all over the place. Possibly slime boots should be available earlier in the tier and long fall boots later.
