it's described here:
http://docs.julialang.org/en/latest/manual/parallel-computing/?highlight=everywhere
but not here:
http://docs.julialang.org/en/latest/stdlib/base/
and ?@everywhere at the REPL returns 'symbol not found'.

perhaps though we should wait to document it until it's behavior has been finalized: #9118

The REPL thing works now, at least. Does this need to stay open?
