Thanks for the suggestion. We're in the midst of a big refactoring, with an aim to making a 0.1.0. Once that's done, and it will impact dependencies quite a bit, the next set of steps will focus on protocol improvements and include documentation. For the gory details see #343. First steps can already be seen in the develop branch.

We'll for sure take this into account w.r.t. Python dependencies, thanks.

Peep will soon be deprecated in favor of the hash-checking functionality built into pip 8. Once you've upgraded your infrastructure to pip 8, due out early 2016, switch the format of your hashes using peep port, described below.
