To see what metadata is incomplete, I go to the edit metadata page and click "Save Changes" so that the validation error banner message appears at the top of the page, telling me that "Required fields were missed or there was a validation error. Please scroll down to see details." I see an error message under the Point of Contact E-mail field that says that the email address is not valid.
The email address has a trailing space, and at first this seems similar to another case we've seen this month where the "Incomplete metadata" tag appears because of a trailing space in a field that expects a URL (see the email sent to Dataverse support). But when I remove the space that's trailing the email address and click "Save Changes", the changes aren't saved. The page refreshes and the validation error banner message is still at the top of the page, but the error message under the Point of Contact E-mail field isn't showing anymore.
The email address doesn't have a trailing space. No other fields in any of the metadata blocks have the invalid metadata message.
When I click "Save Changes" again, the page refreshes, the validation error banner message is still at the top of the page, and no other fields in any of the metadata blocks have the invalid metadata message.
So I'm not able to save the draft version and can't tell what's invalid.
The larger usability challenge, where it's tough for depositors to figure out what metadata is incomplete, is discussed in IQSS/dataverse#2190.

A depositor emailed Dataverse support to let us know that the dataset at https://doi.org/10.7910/DVN/UNJU3N has an "Incomplete metadata" tag and they can't tell why. See the email at https://help.hmdc.harvard.edu/Ticket/Display.html?id=367388.
This GitHub issue is about an unknown bug that's preventing us from updating the dataset at https://doi.org/10.7910/DVN/UNJU3N.
