There is a question here for @dannyparsons on how we might store large data sets that are too big for the R-Instat library. We already have this query with the EUMETSAT data (300Mbytes) that we use to compare station and satellite data. My question concerns data rescued and made available by Meteo France.
There is almost no data from Cameroon and less from Guinee and Togo, though they could be used.
Next in the list with years and stations is Senegal and Tchad.
The other 9 countries have quite a lot of data - both daily and synoptic. They are:
Benin
Burkina Faso
Central African REpublic
Congo
Cote d'Ivoire
Gabon
Mali
Mauritania
Niger

I have asked @isedwards about access to the data. His answer is as follows:
"I've not found a suitable long-term home (although I've not tried your suggestion of Dataverse - so you could try that?).
The best option is probably to use Google Drive or something similar. If you make the link available from r-instat.org
then you can point the students to the link on your page and then you can update the link there if we find a better long-term solution?

I suggest we do this and am replying to find their current location.
I consider these data could form the basis for an excellent piece of assessed work for the AIMS students in week 2. They each take one country, and either the synoptic or the daily data. They have to be tidied and then some analyses have to be done. This to include an inventory and some quality control. I am particularly interested to know whether the problems with the rainfall, that I found in the Niger data are similar in the daily records from the other countries.
