I'm going through surveys from the XR access symposium, and feedback from a researcher who did a walk through of Hubs and there are a number of comments about sound being too much on first load. If I recall correctly, we've had people at the meetup flag similar issues.
I believe sound specialization may not kick in right away, and it can mean that the voices/audio are very loud at first when you open a Hubs room, and then quiet down. If the default lobby position is right next to a video or an ongoing conversation it is continues to b every loud as you go through the steps to enter.
I wonder if it might be a good idea to not play room audio at first, if we are doing a redesign of the entry flow it might be worthwhile having audio only start once you have decided to enter the room, or spectate from the lobby.

Having a similar issue on hubs cloud instance, audio is loud during start with even spoke muted elements. I noticed that clicking the first time on the webpage trigger an audio start to all already loaded assets (even muted ones) that is balanced/specialized after 0.2sec. Non loaded assets will not be balanced/spatialized at all (tested on muted elements) until clicking on entering room UI (this bit is inconsistent).
