Currently we have no hover sound effects in the 2d UI, it is probably worth trying an experiment where we add a slight hover sound to elements which have hover visual treatments, specifically to start the 2D HUD buttons and (once a hover effect is added) the primary red CTA buttons.

Is there a functional purpose that this would provide? I lean towards not adding additional audio feedback on elements unless there is an explicit need.

I think if done subtlety enough they can add a touch of polish and add to the feeling of interactivity. If overdone they can be really annoying. I don't see it as a high priority on its own but is part of "juice"/polish which I do think we are lacking.

I'm trying to think of other apps that do this outside of games. I know Hubs has a lot of different affordances outside of traditional conference apps, but I think that adding audio elements to a platform primarily geared towards voice chat seems like it's adding distractions. I'd personally immediately want to turn this off, but I'll keep the issue open for now and if we have bandwidth in the future we can visit adding it as an optional toggle since we've got an easy way to enable it with preferences.
