It's possible to navigate to the hidden live region spans with VO-Right in Safari #3

The visually hidden live regions spans are still available for accessing by the VO cursor, when I use VO-Right. They appear at the end of the page.

I'm thinking that a possible workaround could be adding a timer to remove the live-region after 1-2mins, or maybe to experiment with setting them aria-hidden after 1-2mins. So at least the old announcements won't stay VO-Left/Right navigable in the DOM.
