Announcements

  • Standards Working Group will become the Software Standards Working Group (SSWG) in Jan
  • The New Hardware Standards Working Group (HSWG) will commence in January. It is dedicated to developing comparable and reliable standards for sustainable digital infrastructure.

First specification - Creating standardized marginal signals to enable coordination across energy, telecoms, cooling, data centres, and software applications for more carbon-efficient scheduling and load balancing. This could be the next evolution of carbon-aware computing.

Summary meeting notes

The meeting focused on finalizing preparations for the upcoming AI workshop, with five applications received and more expected. The GIAC will review applicants starting January 1st. The 2025 roadmap was discussed, including updates to the SCI for AI and potential new SCIs for blockchain and water. SCI for AI Workshop Updates
