Outline Action Item Details

There is a newly formed Sustainable Web Interest Group in the W3C which has an allocated member of W3C staff involved in the organisation and it can be seen as an extension of the active community that formed around the more informal W3C Sustainable Web Design Community Group.

I joined one of their kick off calls, and during the meeting we discussed how how best to collaborated with the GSF. It's early days but there was interest in forming a MOU, so there's some form of review and explicit communication as different W3C documents and other guidelines are created.

Conversely, there's been some early discussion about an SCI for Web, which feels like a logical place for some collaboration too.

The Interest Group is a smaller, more formal group then the W3C community group, and in the absence of an explicit sustainability focussed W3C working group, it seems to be a good candidate 'interface' between the two organisations.

The W3C Sustainable Web Interest Group charter lays out explictly what the group is expected to do, and maybe a useful when drafting a MOU in 2025.

Note: the Interest Gorup (the IG) has juuust formed, so this is early days.
