Right now when we officialize someone, a tiny star in a circle appears beside their name:

Hovering over the participant name gives some more information, but does not display the officialization name itself. The little tiny star in a circle is there again, but that really isn't going to read as anything for the casual user:

Would it be possible to:

  1. Add officialization information , preferably on the proposal card itself or failing that to the hover pop up pictured above?
  2. Replace the standard tiny star in a circle icon with something more visually compelling?
  3. Actually show different Icons for individual kinds of officializations. (One if someone is on a Board, a different one if they are in Caucus etc)

Interestingly, participant officializations show up in a "Badge" column where the Word "Badge" is greyed out. So perhaps what I ask for is already availible in the admin UI and I am missing it:

As discussed, the best zero cost way to do this is probably Groups, which can be used as aliases for roles, but I agree that a small visual indicator (e.g. replacing the start with initials like "SC", "FB", "FC") would be a neat extension.

The big benefit of Groups over officialization is that Groups will be persistent. When someone leaves a group, they will lose their officialization, which makes the purpose of their contributions less obvious. If someone posts as "Fund President", then that will always be clear, even if the person behind the Group might change over time.
