When the layers are rendered from Carto they display a horizontal line at the 180° line:

I don't think it's easily fixable; this is a limitation of Mapbox GL but not an unusual one, see

Somehow that issue didn't appear with Google Maps. There might be a way to fix this : rendering the layer as lines instead of polygons (force PostGIS line geometries from Carto + render as a line layer on MGL side), but not sure it's worth the time.

@nerik ths was also present on the GMAPS version I think. I always thought the issue was in carto, since in carto builder you can also see the issue. If you import a GeoJSON in the mapbox branch you don't see the issue.

This is not a high priority issue, but we should keep it in mind.
