As mentioned in #135, it is useful for understanding what the script does and for debugging, to plot figures of intermediate steps.
See for example how this was done in old geoutils: https://github.com/GeoUtils/geoutils/blob/5c41b2a343d1f0fc161eed4426154656c06841a4/geoutils/dem_coregistration.py#L126
