On https://genspectrum.org/flu/h5n1/single-variant? the mutation filter does not seem to work. The dropdown shows no selectable mutations, when I type in "A123T".

It's multi-segmented - seg1:123T will work.

Can we somehow improve the user feedback to provide hints why their mutation isn't valid?

We could add some sort of quickstart / TLDR section to the info text that gives some working examples.
