Input File Syntax

What should be the syntax of the input file for testing. I have a .txt files which has a string of 1's and 0's.
11001100
00000000
11111111
00000000
...............

When I feed this file to the dieharder it fails all the test. Although the same file is passing all the NIST test.
Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?
