Request Description

Problem:

Running Embeddium 0.3.31 and EmbeddiumPlus 1.2.13 on Minecraft 1.21.1 along with Forge 47.3.12 on the ARM64-based Windows Dev Kit significantly deteriorates performance. Without Embeddium X running, I get around 25 FPS with peaks in the lower 30s. With Embeddium installed, the FPS count immediately drops to single digits (around 3 - 7 FPS).

Hardware:

The Windows Dev Kit has the following stock hardware:

  • Snapdragon Compute Platform" with 8 CPUs @ 3 GHz
  • Qualcomm Adreno 690 8cx Gen 3 chipset)
  • 32 GB LPDDR4x RAM

Request:

Please consider official support for ARM64 / Qualcomm Adreno hardware. With proper optimization, there are probably significant gains to be had given the platform's constraints. Thank you.

Unfortunately, I don't have the equipment to handle this by myself, nor do I currently have the means to procure such hardware.

I can confirm Embeddium on Forge 1.20.1 drastically lowers performance on a Surface Pro 11 with Snapdragon X Elite, running on a native arm64 Java build. Sodium does seem to have the same problem, at least 0.5x versions for 1.20.1 Fabric
