Problem Statement

For groups of related FOCUS spec columns, there's not a good way to highlight their relationship across multiple scenarios. For commitment flexibility, it is important to highlight examples where normalization can take place and how the FOCUS supports these cases.

Objective

Practitioners have a clear understanding how commitment flexibility manifests within the FOCUS spec

This appendix was reviewed and approved by Micheal Flanakin but unfortunately time ran out for its consideration in v1.1.

Notes from the Maintainers' call on November 4:

Context: This appendix would provide guidance on commitment flexibility, such as scaling Reserved Instances to match variable demand, supporting practitioners who need adaptable commitment strategies.
Level of Effort Required: Low — Adding an appendix is manageable, and a draft already exists, which minimizes effort.
