Overview
Describe the purpose
As an DFI investor from the 1st hour and a Cake user since 2019 I started to create a dashboard mid of 2020 to track different data (https://www.cakedefi-review.com). It was just a small project with a few graphs.
In January 2021 this project was then the 1st CFP submitted by U-Zyn on DeFiChain (#9) and with the funds I started to concentrate on DeFiChain, which results in a complete new and reworked dashboard under https://www.defichain-analytics.com/. This was released in 04/2021.
After launch of the new dashboard, I moved on with updating it and adding more and more information. And of course I have not stopped and have no plans to stop working on it. DeFiChain-Analytics will be a main source in the DeFiChain ecosystem.
How will the fund be spent?
A small part of the fund is used to pay the infrastructure (domain, hosting, ...). But the main part is to compensate my continuous effort, which I spent over the last 12 months to maintain and improve the dashboard. What happened in the last 12 months on DeFiChain-Analytics?
Beside new features the existing graphs are improved and adapted (e.g. new dTokens were added were needed). I don't want to mention every detail here, but you can check out my changelog on the dashboard (https://www.defichain-analytics.com/about?entry=changelog).
Another point I want to mention here, which the one or other don't know, is that a lot of time is needed to maintain the code. I had to move from old APIs to the new Ocean infrastructure some months ago. And some of the APIs were changed slightly, new data is added or old one is removed. This can result in errors on my side with the data acquisition (e.g. the AMZN stock split removed a data field in the API structure and let my dashboard crash). So, even you don't see any progress on the graphs for some weeks, I can tell you, I am working on the code several days a week.
Maybe the current time and market phase is not the best one to monetize my work and I thought about to postpone it. But I believe in DeFiChain, work on my project and bring value to the system. This is independent of any situation.
How does this CFP benefit the DeFiChain community?
I think a big part of the community know my dashboard to get insights into the blockchain and what is happening on DeFiChain - I think currently a lot of persons use my data to have a look on the dUSD distribution. My goal was and is to make things transparent with the help of data. The more people know what's going on, the stronger we are.
